Two 1st Class passes Here is Curtis who passed his Mod 1 test with a clean sheet at his first attempt today. A great result. Also passing today (but not pictured) was Jamie who passed his Mod 1 with just 1 minor fault. Two very capable and confident riders. Well done to both of them.

A sunny CBT. Here is Mike & Nick after completing their Cbt today. Mike has just bought a 1966 scooter (and a boot lace tie and winkle picker shoes???) so wants a Cbt to get going again. Nick is renewing his Cbt after first coming to us 2 years ago. Nick has been riding his Vespa 125 since. Both safe and competent riders. It seems that scooters are making a revival…. I might get mine out on the road to join them. Well done to them both.

A Thumbs Up says it all. Evan, a ski Instructor from the South of France swapped the icy slopes for the sunny country lanes of Llandrindod Wells to pass his Mod 2 bike test today. A great ride with just a couple of minor faults saw him pass with ease in the Mid Wales Spa Town. We can’t offer him a day on the piste… But a night celebrating is on the cards. Evan, originally from Scotland made a special trip from France to train with us and is well pleased with his choice. Well done to him.

New Bike, New Licence. Here is Carl, all smiles today in a very sunny Llandrinod Wells after passing his Mod 2 Bike Test at his first attempt. Able to handle the new Fazer 800 with ease, picking up just a couple of minor rider faults. A great result for him. His biking ambition is a road trip with his pals to Vietnam! Good luck with that. Well done.

Surviving on the road. There are many road signs in the Highway Code, all serving the purpose of keeping us safe. But one of the most important road signs for a Motorcyclist is the ‘Crossed Fork and Spoon’ which tells us there is Food nearby! Can anyone out there tell me where this sign is situated? If you trained with 1st Class then you’ll have passed this one! Food & petrol, 1st Class.

On their way to test success. On day four of The 4 Day Advanced Motorcycle Course Mike & Graham take a break at the Llyn Brianne Reservoir just outside Llandovery. After lunch they met up with an independent Examiner for RoSPA to take their Advanced RoSPA Test. One achieving a Silver standard and the other getting a Gold grade. Two excellent passes for two very commpetant riders. The 1st Class Rider Training Advanced Course continues to deliver a 100% pass rate for the RoSPA test. Well done to both of them.

Going for Gold? Seen here taking a break during their Advanced Course today is Gareth & Andrew. Enjoying the sunshine on the Bwlch Mountain Road. This four day course gives candidates the opportunity to take the RoSPA Advanced test which can give a Gold, Silver or Bronze graded pass. Covering over 150 miles today on some of the most challenging roads they were guided with tuition based on Roadcraft, The Police System of Motorcycle Control. A further on road day to come in early August. A great day today.

No more pedalling! Pictured here on their Cbt is Alex (in the foreground) and Mike (on the right) both from Welsh Cycling training to enable them to use bikes for their Cycling association duties. No more pedalling for them. On the left is Cain, an experienced ‘off roader’ who works at the Council Run Off Road motorcycle centre at Rover Way. All easily adapted their skills to the road bikes today and proved to be safe riders. Well done to them. All got the road riding bug and looking forward to the further training.

Ok, Don’t Rub it in! Pictured here on their CBT today is Kieran on the scooter and Tony on the Suzuki. Kieran at 16 is a complete novice but showed great knowledge and good skills. Tony, who already rides in Dubai came to do his Cbt and direct access. When I asked him how often he rides in Dubai he said, “a few times a week…. If its COOL enough”! Cool enough!!! Don’t rub it in. I’m still drying out from my last soaking. He then added that it didn’t rain in Dubai at all last year! Some people eh! Anyway I took him to MacDonalds at Pontprennau and it absolutely chucked it down with rain, bouncing off the road. We all got soaked. Welcome to Wales! Well done to both for completing the Cbt is such challenging conditions.
