We could still help you if you fit the ‘Critical Worker’ criteria. Whilst driving & riding tests have been suspended by the DVSA, the gov.uk website gives details of how you can still apply and take the training and tests if necessary. This is if you are in the category of being a ‘Critical Worker’. The procedure is given on the gov website. In short, you apply by email. They allocate you a test slot. You then contact us and we will do our best to arrange the necessary training to prepare you for the tests. So you may still see riders out and about, wearing our distinctive ‘1st Class Rider’ Orange and Grey Hi Viz vests. Our instructors have been fully briefed with regards to the extra precautions required to do this safely at this difficult time. So, please don’t slate us. We are doing what we can to keep the Critical Workers out on the road and mobile to better perform their important role. These are strange times. Please stay safe.

Not Going Out???? Whilst our practical training sessions have been somewhat curtailed, hopefully we can still help you. If you have any riding, training, Highway Code queries etc, please feel free to ask. I will do what I can to get you an answer. So if you’ve taken the decision (based on the current advice) not to go out and ride, but have that niggling question, hopefully we can help. Please note though, I don’t know how many toilet rolls you can carry on a Yamaha 125!! (nor do I need to know)! Fire away.

Hit it with a hammer! I’ve developed a fault with the KIPASS ignition key security system. Researched on the Internet and apparently it’s a common fault. The Cure? Hit the ignition (in a particular spot) with a hammer. Guess what. It works. Back on the road. Riding around like Thor with my hammer.

Not such a 1st Class Day Out. With tests postponed tomorrow in Newport, but no message about our Mod 2 tests in Bridgend today, Charles and Clayton enjoy a pre-test ‘snack’ on the way. Only to told when we get to the test centre that our tests won’t be going ahead here either!! Very frustrating but it’s a bit of a unique situation, so we can only do what we can do. We hope everyone is safe and healthy. Let’s start planning rebooking all these tests!!

Work From Home He Said!! If you’ve got tests booked, at the moment, they are still going ahead as normal. We shall wait and see if there are any further updates from the DVSA. We have set in place appropriate precautions during our training. Not shaking hands, hand washing etc etc. Work from home??? I’d better move the bike back outside….. I can’t see the telly!
