Motorcycle Training news, from 1st Class Rider Training – Cardiff.
What a Coincidence. Two Special Visitors in one go. Out training today and we were spotted by two special visitors. Both former 1st Class students, Ashley and Lee turned up purely by chance. They both trained together and both turned up with their new bikes. Another coincidence, they were both Triumphs. Ashley had the Yellow TT and Lee was riding the Black Daytona. Looking good and out enjoying the sunshine. Both agree, ‘It is the only way to travel’…

Some lovely roads to ride, some practice for the mod 1 and of course breakfast at Norms Cafe. Well done to you both.

Old Habits… Today I was out training with members of the National Escort Team. A team of very professional riders who are responsible for the safe escort of on road cycle & sporting events. Pictured here, today at the start of the season, at the 40th Severn Bridge Road Race. They have a busy calendar ahead. Another excellent reason to get out on the bike. A great bunch.

These Boots are made for Riding….. On their Direct Access Course today is James and David. Both enjoying the 500’s and both showing off their new Aldi boots. David had a pair when he arrived this morning and James was so impressed with them, he also had a pair by the time we’d finished, stopping off at Aldi for a fitting whilst we were out and about. For just £29.99 they are excellent value…. I might even get a pair myself…. and some biscuits while I’m there….. Well done to you both for a great day. Both now ready for the Module 1 test.

It’s a Triumph. Here is Mark with his new Triumph, and very pleased with it he is too. Mark, from Chester passed his test with us recently and yesterday undertook a Post Test Training Day with Anthony, one of our RoSPA Qualified Instructors. It’s given him the bug, as once he has clocked up a few more miles on his bike he is looking to do our Advanced Motorcycle Course. So remember, it doesn’t end when you get rid of your L plates…. that’s when it starts. Well done to Mark. The bike is looking good. Nice one.

Memories of a St. David’s Day gone by. As part of the VIP Escort Team I was fortunate enough to meet Princess Diana. Pictured here in conversation with me after attending a Rugby Match on St. David’s Day some years ago. ( a while ago)! The little boy sat on my Patrol Bike is Prince William! How slim was I, Princess Diana is almost blocking me from view!!

The Sun Sets for another Biker….. Sad news today as the roads of South Wales claim the life of another biker. Our thoughts go out to his family. Don’t be fooled just because it is dry and sunny, keep your wits about you at all times. Riding a bike is not dangerous but we are one of the most vulnerable road users out there at the moment. Learn how to get the best from your bike, before it gets the better of you. Stay Safe and spare a thought for another biker lost.
