Motorcycle Training news, from 1st Class Rider Training – Cardiff.

Nearly… But not yet!! Don’t go throwing away your paper licence counterpart just yet. It seems that the planned changes, to abolish the Paper Counterpart Licence from January 2015 have been put on hold. So hang on to both parts, as until the new rules start your licence is incomplete if you bin your paper part now. Don’t get caught out.

A Tricky Junction. If you are due to take your Mod 2 test in Newport, then bear this junction in mind. It is used ocassionaly during the test route. You may find yourself approaching down the hill on the road coming in from the left, and be asked to turn right. A number of times candidates have misread the road markings and treat the centre island as a carriageway divider (with one way traffic on each side – which is not the case), and they find themselves positioned on the ‘wrong side’ of the road when they reach the give way lines. Take your time in areas you are not familiar with and have a good look at the road markings on the approach. I hope that helps.

Follow The Diversion. Here is Tony, who passed his tests with us recently, who braved the icy start today to bring in his new bike to show us. A lovely Yamaha looking good in red. Its why we do it. Nice one.

And now it’s Ian’s turn. Ian on his Step Up day today. His first time on the 600 and practising for his Mod 1 test, at the test centre in Newport. Being able to book the test site for practice sessions is such a benefit for our students and is great preparation for the forthcoming test. Well done Ian, passing his mock test with ease. Now we’ve just got to do it for the real one.

Another Student booked on this today. Don’t miss out! Also watch out for an important up date about this course. We may be able to confirm the inclusion of a further test qualification on this course. Being confirmed soon. Great News.

James says itt’s easy. Well done for passing his Mod 1 test at his first attempt today. Just 1 minor fault for a slight drop in speed on the ‘avoidance’ exercise. He brought it up on his second run and is now ready for his Mod 2. Nice one James.
