Purple for the Boys too. Pretty Purple Mod 1 pass certificates for everyone today. Andrew & Kieran, also both making it look easy and passing with just a couple of minor faults between them. Mod 2 tests next. Well done.

Its Purple – to match the bike (alnost!) Well done to Dawn who passed her Mod 1 test in Newport today on her own Virago 535. A great result for her, holding her test nerves together and coming away with a clean sheet. This is well deserved for Dawn who first attempted to beat the law changes two years ago but for various reasons it was since put on hold. More than ready for the Mod 2 now. Well done.

The smile says it all! Congratulations to Jason who passed his Mod 2 bike test today at his first attempt. A well deserved 1st Class smile. An unucky result for Alex who missed a signal leaving a busy roundabout, which cost him his test. Both good riders but just the one error separated them.

Was Kim the Mystery Shopper? Sent to test me! Congratulations to her for passing her Mod 2 test in Newport today, at her first attempt – but what a morning we had! If the sign said STOP, she went. When the Traffic Light was RED, she went. In the one way street I said turn Right, So she did, but from the left hand side of the road. And she provided Newport with her very own light show, by leaving her indicators going at every opportunity. And plenty more besides!!! But when it mattered, she rode like a 1st Class Rider and passed with just a couple of minor faults. She is very happy…….. I’m going for a lie down in a darkened room.

“Brake! Brake! Brake! Break! Broke! Broken! You see the strangest things at your driving test centre! Thankfully this wasnt one of ours, but we mustn’t laugh. On our travels to Mid Wales for tests today, just before the test our student ‘J’ grabbed the front brake going into a mini roundabout and down went the bike, on its left side. One clutch lever broken! A quick visit to the test centre and we were able to swap test candidates, to give us time to sort out the bike. Matt stepping forward to take the test. Managing to source a clutch lever at the most obscure of places we fixed the bike. Matt passed the replacement test and we were able to get in some riding before Js test. On the way to the test centre for the test, going downhill turning right J grabbed the front brake and down went the bike! On the right this time so one brake lever broken. A replacement was fitted but by now we had gone over the test time and the test was cancelled. So all that remained was a long ride home for J. ( and a pocket full of scrap metal). Be careful how you use that front brake!

Mod 1 Success. Here is Rob about to celebrate his Mod 1 test success in Swansea today, with a visit to Bellybusters in Neath. A first time pass for him. Good food but Bellybusters gets the award for the most miserable waitress ever. Please accept our apologies for disturbing you and taking you away from your newspaper expecting you to serve us food!

He brought Chocolates! This is Jon from Belfast who passed his tests with us, came to visit us again to show off his bike & to bring us “Lucky Shamrock” Chocolates. Spending a couple of days visiting family & riding some fab roads. Nice one.

One Up, One Down. Thumbs up for Dan who passed his Mod 2 big bike test today at his first attempt. Seen here with his Varedero 125- which no longer has L plates! Well done to him. But tough luck for Stephen who left an indicator going after a right turn. You’ll get it next time. Good effort all round.
