Motorcycle Training news, from 1st Class Rider Training – Cardiff.

Every Lidl Helps… Lids in Lidl. Arrived in Lidl today. Flip front helmets for just under £40. Also open face helmets, gloves, base layers and motorcycle socks. I bought some of the motorcycle socks, but they wouldn’t fit my bike so I wear them! Bloody lovely… Aldi is having their biker kit in from the 9th of March. If you are on a tight budget but want some reasonable kit it’s certainly worth paying a visit.

“And so they came to pass”… Another two great first time passes for our students today on their Mod 1 tests. Pictured here is Richard who rode the big bike for the first time only yesterday. Well done also to Matthew who passed earlier in the day but couldn’t hang around for a photo. Well done both. Ready for the Mod 2 now.

New Tyre Time. Mark from MG Mobile Tyre Fitting fits the Kawasaki with Pilot Road 3 from Michelin. Excellent tyres with no noticeable difference in their performance in the wet or dry. All highly recommended, tyres & the fitting service. Mark can be contacted on 07765573025. Don’t forget that new tyres need a ‘scrubbing in’ period of at least 100 miles and also that cold tyres don’t grip as well as warm tyres so give yours chance to wake up on these cold mornings.

This is Student ‘M’. He passed his Mod 1 test in Newport today at the first attempt and is very pleased…… But he can’t be identified because his Wife thinks he’s in work and doesn’t know he’s doing his test. So this was a great result for Matt Armitage-Shanks of 123 High Street… Oops!

A Welcome Visitor. This is why we do it. Roger passed his test with us not too long ago and called in on his pride & joy, Triumph Bonneville SE. A lovely bike. He wishes he’d passed his test years ago and is loving every mile on two wheels. Planning a trip to ride in Texas later this year. He also wants to do our 3 Countries Advanced Course…. But so does his Son and they are arguing about who should get the time off work in the family business to do it. So why not close for a couple of days and both do it! He really is proving that its the only way to travel.

My… That’s a Big One! This is Simon with his BMW 1600 just getting a bit of practice with some slow manoeuvres before a nice run up to The Owl’s Nest earlier today. Simon is booked on to our 3 Countries Advanced Course which starts in April. Lets hope the sun is still shinning on us then too.

Back to Biking. Here is Jeff with Simon on a back to biking course today. Simon favoured a Kawasaki Z650 back in the 80s (that was my first big bike too) but has had a break of a few years. Now commuting on his 250 he spent a day with one of our 1st Class Instructors to get back into it. Nice one.
