Motorcycle Training news, from 1st Class Rider Training – Cardiff.

Today’s Ride Out. Old Severn Bridge is closed. So we’ll take the Ferry….. Oh well maybe not then So our route has changed the New Bridge is open and traffic is running freely. We’ll take the Motorway to Bristle and then cross country. It’s only a bit of wet & a bit of a blow So if you fancy it we are still aiming to meet at Caerphilly Mountain Snack Bar to depart at 9. If its closer to you I understand that Lindsey from Bridgend Motorcycle Training is running a group to the show meeting at the services at M4 Junction33. Also for 9am (this is information that was up to date yesterday for Lindsey’s group so check before leaving home). See you later… Come on… You know you want to!

Ride Out Tomorrow. Going to the Show. To the Classic Bike Show at the show ground in Shepton Mallet. Meeting at Caerphilly Mountain Snack Bar for 9am departure. I don’t know if the girls in the picture will be there but the Bloke in the middle will be leading the way. Come if you want to… Don’t if you don’t.

A Big Day on the Big Bikes. Alan & Mike take in the radio briefing from Jeff before setting out on the road. With Downpour Dai coming later today there maybe a soaking on the way. Downpour Dai? Well everyone else names their hurricanes & typhoons so why not us.

Bloody Nails!! Mike went for his Mod 2 test in Merthyr today. All kitted up he left the test centre, followed by the Examiner on his job bike. Ten minutes later they roll back into the car park (not a good sign), for the examiner to say he’s got a puncture. We check his rear tyre and there it was! A bloody nail! So the test was terminated with no result, only to be rescheduled. So frustrating. But it can’t be helped I suppose. Bloody Nails!

The right gear. Matthew & Gareth get some instruction on gear changing during the cbt today. Lucky with the weather, managing to stay dry and all smiles at the end of the session. Another two first class riders take to the roads.

The New Norms?? Direct Access Training today Jonathan takes a break at Hannah’s Diner on the A48 at Cowbridge Downs. Could Hannah’s be the New Norm’s Cafe? Jonathan had a great day in preparation for his Mod 1 test next Sunday in Brighton. Unusual for Sunday tests but it has to fit in with Jonathan’s work over in Dublin, so exciting times for him….. But breakfast first!

“It was worth getting wet for” So they said. Here is Ashley & Mike all smiles after passing their Mod 1 tests at their first attempt today. Six soaking pairs of gloves later and Mike did get some funny looks in the toilet at McDonald’s as he had the hand dryer blowing down the front of his trousers to dry his pants out! Two great results for them in horrible conditions. Great spirit. Well done.

I don’t care what the weatherman says…. As the song goes, you won’t find me complaining. (Because I’m going back in the classroom. Jeff prepares Mikaela & Ivor for their Step Up Day, moving up from their 125s to the 600s. Both keen to get going. Both are members of the Dragon Bikers Forum which you can find online, and maybe follow their exploits. In the meantime they are heading out on the road to find a warm and dry Biker’s Cafe somewhere!
