Motorcycle Training news, from 1st Class Rider Training – Cardiff.

Aldi Bike Gear. Coming soon. From the begining of March Aldi are selling a range of Biker equipment. Aldi featured our comments in their last promotions leaflet and the kit is certainly worth considering. With clothing and accesories on offer, it’s a great place to accesorise! Watch out for their leaflets.

Another Commuter Safe Course done. This is Jay & James who both took advantage of the Council and Welsh Assembly funded Motorcycle Safety Scheme. Both riding 125s having recently completed their cbt, they suffered a complete soaking yesterday to do the training. Both received valuable lessons, (with several examples provided by the public!) of how to deal with motorists who don’t stop at Red Traffic Lights, those who open car doors without looking & Taxi drivers who blatently ignore the rules of the road! And much more guidance given by our Instructor, Dixie, on hazard perception whilst riding in City traffic.

Free Training! It’s a Triumph. As part of our Council funded motorcycle training scheme here is James & his Uncle Geoff enjoying a break on their free day, both riding Triumphs. Both James & Geoff use their bikes for commuting and found the training (with one of our Police trained Instructors) “excellent”. We have provided training for almost 20 riders so far on a variety of bikes and the funding for the scheme ends in March so if you want to see if we can fit you in, then don’t hang about. Text me on 07545567273.

A great day in Merthyr. Here is Phil & Gobind who both passed their Mod 2 tests today. Just a couple of minor faults between them. Great results. Gobind is a Seikh and could legally ride wearing a turban but chooses to wear a helmet as he said he has lost a few friends over the years who have been killed whilst not wearing a helmet back home in Kuala Lumpur. Interesting debating point, in Canada they are repealing the exemption and requiring Seikhs to wear helmets. If you were allowed to ride without a helmet – would you?
