A Testing Day. A bike test done this morning and just waiting now to start an Advanced Car Test. Why don’t you join your local group and they can guide you towards taking a test too. You don’t have to take the test but the experience can improve your road skills.

Question Time.. The photo shows the M4 Brynglas Tunnels at Newport. (The Cardiff Butetown Tunnels are similar). There is a Solid White Line down the centre. Can I cross that line to change lanes, or overtake? Simple question??

It must be Newport with a bridge like that. Here is Dave getting some last minute practice for the Emergency Stop before his Mod 1 test today. Passing first time, with just 1 minor fault. A great result for him. 1st Class!

The Annual Christmas Hospital Teddy Bear Run. Sunday 9th of December. Meeting at Caerphilly Mountain Snack Bar at 10am. To take Teddy Bears (and their Cuddly Friends) to the Children’s Casualty Unit at UHW Heath Hospital. Please feel free to join us but make sure you bring some Teds with you on the day. This started years ago, when as a Traffic Cop we would spend a lot of time at the Casualty Unit dealing with the aftermath of Road Crashes. When this involves a child, it just adds to the family upset, and when this occurs over Christmas, it just adds to the trauma for the child. There was no funding in the NHS to provide toys for the children and on leaving the hospital, they had to leave their little friend behind. So with colleagues at the time we raised funds to buy Cuddly toys for any child unfortunate enough to find themselves in such a place, that they could keep when they were discharged. It was felt that it would aide their recovery if they could get to keep their Teddy Bear when they went home. So please join us. Some requirements are that the Cuddly Toys should be new (otherwise the Hospital can’t use them, and should have the necessary CE safety label). Also, small ‘child hand sized’ Teds are best as they won’t interfere with any treatment that the child is getting at the time. So the smaller the better. Please don’t wrap them. Ikea are selling the Heart Teds pictured here for just £1 each so you can fill a bag for just a couple of quid. They are an ideal size. Help us to make a difference for an injured child over Christmas once again. You have all been fantastic in the past, as the pictures from previous Teddy Bear Runs have shown. For that I give a massive thanks, and if you come along on the 9th, I’ll give you a big Teddy Bear Hug too.
