We had sunshine before the rain today. So a stop at Barry Island was just the thing for Rud on his big bike training today. Off to Swansea for us tomorrow with two more trainees. Let’s see what the whether has in store for us!

It’s time for ‘the fridge’ talk…. CBT today. A cup of Magic Bean Drink and the talk about being able to stop without hitting the fridge!

In the interests of mutual aid. I’ve got a ticket to train with Tony at MTP, and he’s got a ticket to train with me. So a multiple cbt on his training site today gets more new riders out on the road.

Get it done before the storm arrived!! Well, nearly. A soaking and a mod 2 test pass for Rob in a very rainy Newport. But all smiles. Well done.

When you’re practising emergency stops…. And you leave skid marks like this, (the straight ones down the middle), there’s still some more practising needed! If the bike skids, remove the cause of the skid, release the brake to get the wheel turning again, and then reapply the brake. Roll off the power. Apply the front brake, immediately followed by the back brake, building up the pressure on the front brake, and then right at the end, as late as you can leave it, pull the clutch in. If it skids, correct the skid!
