Don’t leave it too late! The process in obtaining your motorcycle licence can be complex. The stages are the Compulsory Basic Training. (valid for 2 years) Then you must pass your theory test. (valid for 2 years). Then you must pass your practical Module 1 test. (now that certificate is only valid for the REMAINING life of your theory certificate – NOT a further 2 years). Before your theory certificate expires you must pass your final practical Module 2 test. If your theory expires before you pass mod 2, it wipes away your Mod 1 test pass too. If your cbt expires in that time, you will need to redo that too. (although that isn’t affected by the theory certificate – you must be able to produce valid certificates to the DVSA Examiner at the time of your test. If any of those certificates are missing, or expired, then your test will not take place, and you will lose your fees. So don’t hang about. Leaving it until the clock is ticking is extra pressure that you don’t need. Check your certificate expiry dates carefully. Don’t get caught out!
